Hair Care
I am currently using Affirm Avalon hair relaxer system they offer several different strengths: Mild, Normal, Resistant and Sensitive Scalp formulas. If you are a client who wears demi-permanent or permanent hair color lithium hydroxide is recommended but a mild strength relaxer is sufficient. I suggest if you like having permanent hair color and relaxer services use low heat on your hair. Ceramic tourmaline styling irons are good for the hair. Wearing wet sets including the Roller Wrap and just profiling a combed out wrap on short hair is one of the best inventions yet this industry has been bless with and is also healthier for your hair. I use Kera Kare products to support my clients hair. Products are available retail.
For my press & curl services if clients hair is virgin (this means that your hair has NOT had heat nor chemical applied to it or you just taken out 6mo to 12mo old braids.) I may use a Lustrasilk treatment that tames your natural curl pattern to be more manageable and allows your press to last longer.
I highly recommend natural skin care products. For skin blemishes skin peel treatments are the best use along with a sunscreen lotion SPF 15-30. Pure cocoa butter and shea butter are excellent skin conditioners and helps (evens out stretch marks and blemishes). Black soap is also great for medium to dark skin tones. This soap is used to even out skin blemishes as well. Diet always is a factor when it comes to our skin drink plenty of water and eat lots of vegetables and fruits. Know what you are allergic to.
Don?t forget to give GOD the glory for what he has created in you.
Custom Weave Care Instructions
People may have been experiencing cradle cap scalp disorder wearing net weaves and weaves in general; using the formula below 1-3 times a week depending on your individual need will help keep this disorder under control. I too have a dry and itchy scalp and enjoy wearing net weaves and testing this formula on my present clients I have discovered great results.
- Apply liberally detangling conditioning shampoo or DRY weave hair keeping hair in one direction to avoid tangles. Mix 3 parts of antiseptic and 2 parts of hair oil = solution.
- Sea breeze antiseptic or scalps antiseptic and hair oil solution should be applied to the scalp. First make sure you have coil cotton wrap around the perimeter of the hairline. Apply a plastic cap to head and sit under the dryer for 20-25 minutes on high heat this helps remove dandruff and excessive buildup on the scalp as well providing you a hot oil treatment all in one.
- Rinse thoroughly, apply detangling conditioning shampoo to weave hair then comb thru shampoo with a wide tooth comb keeping hair in one direction at all times. I recommend shampooing hair in the shower to control the hair in one direction. Shampoo session is 1-2 times only. You do not want to dry out or tangle the weave hair. Apply an instant conditioner to weave hair let sit on hair for 5-15 minutes. Then rinse out thoroughly.
- You can air-dry your hair naturally or with a diffuser. Blow-drying is okay first you should use a Denman vented brush to straighten weave hair while blow-drying before using dryer comb attachment to remove unwanted snarls. Hooded dryers are excellent.
- Oil-free lightweight hair shine or gloss may be used. Recommended brands are Kera Kare and Biolage finishing products.
- Kera Kare and Biolage detangling products works well with human hair weave maintenance.
- Flat iron and curling irons may be used just make sure you test the temperature levels by lowest to the mid highest.
- Enjoy your custom weave and share the knowledge of caring for human hair weaves.
- Home maintenance Kits are available so you don’t have to run around locating items. Or purchase items at your local beauty store.
